Jon Bon Jovi helped save a distressed woman from a Nashville bridge, according to local police.
The event took place Tuesday night on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge and was captured by surveillance cameras. Bon Jovi was filming a music video at the time, with the bridge remaining open to the public.
Footage, released by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on Wednesday, shows the woman sitting on the bridge’s ledge, which overlooks the Cumberland River.
In the video, Bon Jovi and another individual approach and speak with the woman, who turns to face them.
“Bon Jovi helped convince her to step back to safety,” Nashville police said on X.
Within a minute, Bon Jovi and the other person assist the woman in climbing back over the railing. Afterward, Bon Jovi embraces her, and they walk down the bridge together, accompanied by others.
The woman was later taken to receive mental health care, a police spokesperson confirmed.
Nashville police praised Bon Jovi and his team for their efforts.
“It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,” said Nashville Police Chief John Drake in a statement.
