Fans of World Cup 2022 could face prison time in Qatar with ban on porn, pork and sex toys

The World Cup 2022 is about to kick off, but any fans or players making their way to Qatar better watch what they bring with them, or they could end up in prison. While Qatar promises a fun time for everyone involved, they want that fun to come without pleasure.

According to the UK Foreign Travel Advice government website, fans or players traveling to the global soccer championship are being warned not to bring certain items with them, as they are reportedly banned in Qatar, the host of the 2022 World Cup. If caught with any items on the banned list, you could face prison time!

In addition, beer will be served at designated locations, including inside the stadiums during games, but it is prohibited elsewhere. Basically, no fun is to be had in Qatar, just come to watch soccer!

Furthermore, they warned that people making obscene acts would be jailed or deported.

No PDA either? The website warns visitors to refrain from public displays of intimacy and advises visitors on how to dress according to the Islamic code. This advice states that people should dress appropriately when going to government buildings. All should avoid wearing clothes that reveal the shoulders and their legs.

This list of banned items should not shock people, as the World Cup in Qatar has been controversial. First of all, the tournament is typically held every four years between May and July. However, things had to be shifted to November 2022 because of Qatar’s very hot climate.

On top of that, Qatar’s stance on homosexuality and human rights has left many angry. Many believe the organizers put profit over people, especially since a Qatar World Cup ambassador told the German television network ZDF that homosexuality is “damage in the mind.”

The most awaited World Cup 2022 will begin on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022.
