Tragedy struck in Harlan County, Kentucky, as a 59-year-old Kentucky man lost his life after being attacked and stung by a swarm of bees on the porch of his residence. The incident unfolded on Tuesday when the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was in the process of relocating an old bag of potting soil from his porch. In doing so, he inadvertently disturbed a swarm of bees concealed within the bag, as reported by the Harlan County Coroner’s Office via social media.
Despite immediate efforts to administer CPR by family members and subsequent attempts by Lifeguard Ambulance and the Emergency Department, they were unable to revive the victim. Deputy Coroner John W. Jones arrived at the hospital after the unsuccessful resuscitation attempts and officially pronounced the 59-year-old male deceased in the emergency room at 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

The investigation into the incident continues under the direction of Deputy Coroner Jones. Authorities have notified the victim’s family, although his name is being withheld until all family members have been informed of the tragic event.
