In a recent interview, Jennifer Coolidge revealed that it wasn’t just men who leveraged their places in Hollywood for sexual satisfaction. In fact, Coolidge’s role as Stifler’s mom led to her becoming open to a whole new world of dating experiences.
Even though it was her most recent role in the series White Lotus that earned Jennifer Coolidge her first Emmy nomination, it was her role in the 1999 comedy American Pie that earned her the most notoriety. The movie which was a commercial success was also a hit for Coolidge in her personal life.
In actuality, her role was so iconic in American Pie that she credits the film with her having the opportunity to sleep with hundreds of men. “I got a lot of play at being a MILF and I got a lot of sexual action from American Pie,” she told Vanity Fair. “There were so many benefits to doing that movie. I mean, there would be like 200 people that I never would have slept with.” Aside from her role as Stifler’s mom in American Pie, she also earned critical acclaim with her role in Legally Blonde.
Also revealed in interviews with the media, Coolidge’s love life often imitates that of the characters she plays on screen. “I did date younger men after American Pie,” she said. “I really dated younger men for the next 10, 15 years.” Even though she’s been featured in multiple roles throughout the years, she still considers White Lotus to be the first role that allowed her to be taken seriously. White Lotus has been received to critical acclaim by viewers who are eager to see the series return for a second season this fall.
