A group of abandoned raccoon cubs was recently found at a construction site in northern Utah, and they have now found new homes. The discovery took place when the crew unearthed the animals beneath the remains of a demolished house.
According to a statement from the Morgan County Fire Department on Wednesday, the compassionate foreman of the demolition crew, while working on Morgan Valley Drive, approached the local fire station seeking assistance. He explained that his crew had heard chirping sounds emanating from the rubble after demolishing an abandoned residence.
The eight baby raccoons were sadly without a mother. The firefighters took it upon themselves to care for the vulnerable creatures until someone with the necessary permits to raise raccoons came forward to adopt them.

In Utah, possessing permits is mandatory for housing non-native species such as raccoons or coyotes, as these animals are commonly found in the wild.
