“Before polls opened, the Bedford County Elections Office received calls from several precincts across the county regarding an issue with the tabulator machines,” said Jeffrey Gable, Bedford County’s elections director, in a statement. “We identified the issue and deployed support teams to resolve the problem. Voting has not been impacted, and all sites are currently being addressed.”

In neighboring Cambria County, about 50 miles from Bedford, election officials have requested an extension of voting hours following a “software malfunction” that temporarily hindered voters’ ability to scan ballots.
