Two fighter jet pilots tragically lost their lives after their Rafale warplane collided with another and crashed in northeastern France, as confirmed by the French military. The pilot of the second jet managed to eject and sustained only minor injuries.
The incident occurred on Wednesday during a combat exercise in the Vosges region, close to the town of Colombey-les-Belles, according to a statement from the Defense Ministry released later in the day. The two pilots who perished were an instructor and a trainee on a training mission.
Investigations are currently being conducted by both military and judicial authorities to determine the cause of the collision.
