Authorities have identified a suspect in a burglary at a Trump for President 2024 campaign office in Virginia, as reported on Wednesday.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office announced that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of 39-year-old Toby Shane Kessler, who is facing burglary charges related to a break-in at the Ashburn office on Sunday night.

According to the sheriff’s office, Kessler, who holds a California driver’s license and lacks a fixed address, is currently being sought with the assistance of other law enforcement agencies.

The sheriff’s office reported that surveillance cameras inside the office recorded the incident, which occurred around 8:11 p.m. on Sunday.

Investigators revealed that the suspect “forced entry through a back door and spent a brief time inside before leaving,” according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

“It remains unclear what, if anything, was taken, and the investigation is still ongoing,” the sheriff’s office stated, adding that the suspect did not appear to leave anything behind.

The suspect was seen in the surveillance footage wearing dark clothing, a dark cap, and carrying a backpack. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have seen Kessler to contact them at 571-918-1869.

“Mr. Kessler has a history of criminal behavior and seems to have been in the Washington metropolitan area since at least 2018,” the sheriff’s office noted.

The campaign office, which also functions as the headquarters for the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee, is leased, according to the sheriff’s office.
