A North Carolina man has been arrested after allegedly attacking a Lowe’s store employee with a sledgehammer and stealing a drill set, according to police.
Aaron Deshown Williams, 25, faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury, and robbery with a dangerous weapon, as stated by the Durham Police Department.
Police report that the incident occurred while a Lowe’s employee was assisting Williams. Williams allegedly took a sledgehammer from his shopping cart and struck the employee in the head.
After the employee fell to the ground, Williams grabbed a drill set and fled the store, police said.
The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and is now in stable condition.

Williams also had an outstanding warrant for possession of a firearm by a felon, police added. He is currently being held in the Durham County Jail without bond.
