Subway made an announcement on Tuesday, revealing that in just 96 hours since the initial offer was unveiled last month, nearly 10000 individuals have expressed their intention to legally change their names to “Subway.” This name-change endeavor promises them a lifetime supply of free sandwiches from the fast-food chain.
The culmination of this unique promotion will occur later this month, with Subway selecting a single winner. Beyond the perpetual sandwich supply, the chosen individual will also be granted financial compensation to cover the expenses associated with the legal and administrative procedures required to finalize the name change.
This inventive initiative comes on the heels of Subway’s introduction of freshly sliced meats within their U.S. establishments, a notable addition to their menu. The company has taken significant strides in revamping its entire menu, signaling a revitalization of their offerings.
Simultaneously, Subway is currently in the midst of seeking a potential buyer, with a private equity firm emerging as the most likely candidate, as reported by numerous media outlets. Reliable sources, including Reuters, have disclosed that the anticipated sale of the chain could potentially reach a staggering $9 billion, and the transaction is projected to conclude by the close of August.
