A high-speed police chase in Washington state on Friday ended in a multi-vehicle crash, leaving seven officers injured and three suspects in custody, officials reported.

The incident occurred near the intersection of North Oak Street and West Carlisle Avenue in Spokane, according to police.

All parties involved in the crash, including the suspects, were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, Spokane Interim Police Chief Justin Lundgren informed reporters during a press briefing after the crash.

Chief Lundgren confirmed that all officers are expected to fully recover, although the conditions of the suspects remain unknown.

Additionally, a police canine in the pursuing vehicle was taken to an emergency veterinary clinic. Chief Lundgren stated that the dog is expected to make a full recovery.

The high-speed pursuit began around 1:00 p.m. local time, as Spokane police were concluding an unrelated search warrant. An officer recognized a vehicle allegedly involved in a recent drive-by shooting.

Officers initiated a chase through a residential neighborhood, with the suspect vehicle speeding through the area. As the vehicle attempted to drive through an intersection, it collided with an assisting armored police vehicle, leading to the crash, according to Lundgren.

Following this collision, a pursuing police vehicle also crashed into the suspect vehicle, Lundgren said.
