Two infants required medical attention for smoke inhalation as a fast-moving brush fire spread across 250 acres in Southern California, officials reported Friday evening.
The fire, named the Fork Fire by Angeles National Forest officials, ignited in the San Gabriel Mountains in northern Los Angeles County, near East Fork and Glendora Mountain roads, shortly after 3:00 p.m. local time.
Multiple families were forced to evacuate the area, which is known for its numerous hiking trails. During the evacuation, two infants were exposed to smoke and needed medical attention.
The current condition of the infants and other evacuees is unknown.

“Spreading is rapid, winds are light, and growth potential is high,” said Angeles National Forest officials.
