A Gainesville High School senior, Jeremy Medina, a dedicated pitcher and catcher for the 2022 baseball team, is currently in a coma after an unfortunate incident at the campus batting cages. The school, located around 55 miles northeast of Atlanta, Georgia, released a statement via social media on Wednesday, revealing that Medina was accidentally struck in the head by a baseball bat during a session at the cages on Monday afternoon at 1:20 p.m.

Details surrounding the accident remain unclear as school officials have not provided specific information. Medina is currently in a coma at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, according to the school’s update. The statement emphasized that Jeremy and his family are deeply rooted in their faith, requesting prayers during this challenging time.
