During Fourth of July celebrations, a shooting incident in the nation’s capital resulted in injuries to at least nine individuals, including a child and a teenager, according to the police.
Assistant Chief Leslie Parsons of the Washington, D.C., Police Department addressed the incident in a video statement, stating that officers promptly responded to reports of a shooting on Meade Street shortly before 1 a.m. local time.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered multiple victims who had been shot. In total, nine individuals sustained injuries, some of whom sought medical treatment at local hospitals independently, while others were swiftly transported by first responders, Parsons explained.

Among those injured, a nine-year-old child and a 17-year-old teenager were affected. Fortunately, all victims sustained non-life-threatening wounds.
