Tragedy struck in Southern California as a single-engine plane crash claimed the life of one individual and left three others injured, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred when a Cessna 172 carrying four people crashed shortly after departure from French Valley Airport in Murrieta at approximately 2:45 p.m., as confirmed by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Television news coverage displayed the small aircraft inverted in a parking lot designated for businesses.
Sadly, one person succumbed to their injuries at the crash site, located about 85 miles (135 kilometers) southeast of downtown Los Angeles, as reported by the Riverside County Fire Department. The fire department further stated via Twitter that the remaining three individuals were transported to hospitals, with one person in critical condition.
