Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. was arrested on Tuesday and charged with domestic violence following an incident where he allegedly threatened his fiancée with a gun during a dispute, according to police reports.
James M. Drozdowski, a public information officer with Avon Police, confirmed that Hall was booked and later arraigned at Avon Lake Municipal Court. He was released after posting bond, as reported by media.
Hall appeared in court alongside his attorney, Kevin Spellacy, who has not yet responded to requests for comment.
In a statement, the Cleveland Browns acknowledged the situation involving Hall, a second-round draft pick from Ohio State.
“Mike and his representatives are in communication with the relevant authorities,” the team stated. “We are currently gathering more information and have no further comments at this time.”
On Tuesday, the team did not hold practice, as players focused on treatment and workouts at their training facility in Berea, Ohio. The Browns are scheduled to host the Minnesota Vikings for joint practices on Wednesday and Thursday, ahead of an exhibition game on Saturday.
According to a detailed incident report obtained by the AP, officers were dispatched around 10 p.m. on Monday night after receiving a call from a woman who claimed that Hall had pushed her daughter and hit her with a baby bottle.
The report indicates that the woman is engaged to Hall and they share an 11-month-old daughter. She stated that the altercation escalated during a discussion about financial support for the child. The woman also noted that Hall is not the biological father.
The woman reported that Hall, 21, became increasingly agitated, threw her belongings outside, and dragged her along the porch and driveway. She further alleged that Hall held a gun to her temple, threatening, “I will [expletive] end it all. I don’t care.”
The woman did not seek medical attention following the incident.
The report also states that Hall locked the woman out of the house and drove away in a pickup truck.
