Police in Puerto Rico rescued 170 animals from a residence in a mountain town on Thursday and arrested the owner.

The animals, which included turtles, donkeys, goats, sheep, various dog breeds, and an endangered Puerto Rican parrot, were found in the town of Gurabo, authorities reported.
None of the animals had received any veterinary care, and several required immediate hospitalization, according to officials.
The owner, a 70-year-old woman, was taken into custody and is being held on a $27,000 bond.
