Seven family members were rescued from a home invasion in Douglaston, Queens, after allegedly being terrorized by intruders, as reported by the New York Police Department.
Emergency dispatchers received a distress call from the residence around 2 a.m. on Saturday, according to media. Upon arrival, officers saw a woman fleeing the building with a baby in her arms.
The woman informed the police that three intruders had entered the home and were still inside with other family members, which included a 72-year-old man, a 71-year-old woman, a 44-year-old woman, a 43-year-old man, a 13-year-old boy, a 10-year-old girl, and a 1-year-old girl.
The suspects reportedly brandished guns and hammers during the invasion. The 43-year-old man was struck on the foot with a hammer, and the 71-year-old woman was punched in the face. Both victims declined medical attention.
The suspects fled through a window with cash, but were later apprehended when investigators used drones to track them down within the vicinity.
