A shooting at the Michigan State Fair on Saturday resulted in one fatality and another person being hospitalized, according to police reports.
The fair, currently taking place at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, saw a significant police presence following the incident. The Novi Police Department posted on X that there is no ongoing threat to the community, describing the event as an “isolated incident.”
A city spokesperson confirmed the shooting to media, and noted that the situation is still developing.
Witnesses recounted the chaos that ensued after the shots were fired, with one individual telling media, “We were all trying to run, duck off somewhere.”
