As of Monday, snowfall totals have reached staggering levels in several locations:

  • Barnes Corners, New York: 65 inches
  • Erie, Pennsylvania: 30 inches
  • Saybrook, Ohio: 56 inches
  • Gaylord, Michigan: 42 inches

In Orchard Park, New York—home to the Buffalo Bills—snow accumulation has hit 26 inches. Despite the wintry blast, the Bills triumphed on their home field Sunday, defeating the San Francisco 49ers 35-10.

A lake effect snow warning is currently in effect for areas spanning Jamestown, New York; Erie, Pennsylvania; and Cleveland, Ohio. Some regions could see an additional 6 to 20 inches of snowfall.

In Michigan, treacherous conditions led to a 14-vehicle pileup involving three semi-trucks on Interstate 94 near Hartford. One driver remains in critical condition. Michigan State Police reported whiteout conditions, which forced the closure of the interstate.
