Was it disrespectful or not? That is what Reddit users are divided over after a woman posted about leaving a family Thanksgiving celebration abruptly due to the presence of her sister’s dog.
In the viral post, Reddit user One_Procedure8627 asked in the subreddit, “Am I the A*****e” for others’ opinions regarding her handling of a situation. She stated she doesn’t like dogs in general and her 29-year-old sister “has a dog that she says her world revolves around,” FOX News reported.
The user continued, saying the dog “sheds a lot” and she previously found dog hair in food that her sister made.
She mentioned that since she found dog hair in her sister’s food, she would gently skip eating that food. According to her, she talked about this problem privately with her mom.
Thanksgiving dinner was held at their parent’s house, and when she arrived, she found her sister helping to prepare the meal, according to FOX News. Then the dog walked into the kitchen, and that’s when the woman said she wouldn’t be eating any of the food.
Her sister thinks it’s very unreasonable as many people are eating the food they have, even with their dogs nearby.
Of course, it didn’t settle well, for the woman stood firm about her decision not to eat the prepared food. At this point, the woman decided to leave the house, but she did leave the pies she had brought for the meal. During dinner, other family members were blowing up her phone and saying she should have just dealt with it, so she wanted the internet’s opinion on whether or not she was the a*****e.
Responders can both relate to and despise the decision of the woman on Reddit. Many people can understand and think the woman’s actions are reasonable since it involves hygiene and health issues.
