After spending much of the past month regurgitating Nazi talking points and aligning himself with far-right wing personalities like Candice Owens, Kanye West was recently invited to Mar-a-Lago for dinner with another white supremacist and denier of the Holocaust named Nick Fuentes.
During the dinner, it was seen that West also met up with former President Trump, who defended ‘Ye’s actions. Trump mentioned Ye has always been good to him despite the backlash ‘Ye’s been receiving.

Trump also revealed that ‘Ye visited him to ask advice about joining politics, which he didn’t approve of. The former president posted on Truth Social that he told ‘Ye not to run because it would only waste his time for he can’t win.
People speculated that it was because Trump had already planned to run for the presidency in 2024.
On the other hand, he could be genuinely looking out for the best interest of someone who adamantly supported him during his 2016 campaign. The dinner, which saw Trump refer to ‘Ye as “a seriously troubled man who happens to be Black,” caused such a firestorm in the media because of the presence of Fuentes, a famous bigot that Trump claimed to be unfamiliar with.
In retrospect, it will be fascinating to see if Trump chooses to maintain his relationship with ‘Ye if he chooses to embark on the campaign trail for the White House in 2024. If he does decide to run, the competition for the Republican nomination would be stiff, to say the least.
