On Thursday, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office revealed that seven people have been charged in relation to a recorded attack on two police officers in New York City. The event occurred near Times Square on January 27 when law enforcement officials were trying to detain an individual.
Previously indicted, Yohenry Brito can be seen in a video wearing a yellow jacket and struggling with officers on the ground. He is now being held for charges related to assault, obstruction, and tampering with evidence.
Moreover, the four people who were apprehended last week – Darwin Andres Gomez-Izquiel, Wilson Juarez, Kelvin Arocha and Yorman Reveron – have been formally charged. They are accused of assault and impeding governmental administration.
During a press conference, Alvin Bragg, the District Attorney, conveyed his shock and anger towards the assault by denouncing it as detestable conduct.

According to the DA’s office, two additional persons have been charged with undisclosed identities. Despite ongoing investigations, one assault suspect named Jhoan Boada has yet to be indicted.
Additionally, three individuals suspected of participating in the assault are currently unknown and have yet to be apprehended.

As per the authorities, a clash broke out while law enforcement officers were dispersing an unruly gathering at West 42nd St. As they endeavored to apprehend someone, culprits launched attacks on them by striking and thrashing with their feet and fists. Later, these perpetrators absconded from the site of action.
Minor injuries were suffered by the officers and they received medical attention at the location.
