Two JetBlue planes collided while positioned on a de-icing pad at Boston Logan International Airport Thursday morning. The incident was confirmed by JetBlue, who explained that the collision occurred between two adjacent lanes of the pad. As per the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Airbus A321neo’s left winglet belonging to JetBlue flight 777 made contact with the right horizontal stabilizer of an identical aircraft number -Jetblue flight 551-.
Damage to a JetBlue aircraft’s winglet and tail section was reported. The FAA declared that the incident occurred in an area under the airline’s control and has revealed intentions to conduct an investigation.

JetBlue declared that the two planes involved would receive maintenance, and to cover for the affected flights heading towards Las Vegas and Orlando, substitute aircrafts will be utilized.
