Kevin Spacey, an Academy Award-winning actor, is currently standing trial in London on charges of sexual assault against four men. Prosecuting attorney Christine Agnew asserted that Spacey is not only a “sexual bully” but also a man who sexually assaults other men. The trial, taking place at Southwark Crown Court, began with Agnew presenting her case to the jury.
Agnew recounted various incidents in which Spacey is accused of assaulting men in their 20s and 30s. One complainant alleges that Spacey forcefully grabbed his penis, causing significant pain. Another individual claims to have awoken to Spacey performing oral sex on him after falling asleep or losing consciousness, despite requesting him to stop. According to Agnew, it is possible that Spacey derived a “sexual thrill” from this type of sexual aggression.
The charges against Spacey include three counts of indecent assault, seven counts of sexual assault, one count of engaging in sexual activity without consent, and one count of engaging in penetrative sexual activity without consent. These alleged incidents occurred in and around London during the 2000s and early 2010s when Spacey served as the artistic director at the Old Vic theater.
Spacey, who was charged last year, has vehemently denied all allegations brought against him. The trial commenced on Friday after the jury selection process, which began on Wednesday.
Notably, Spacey has received two Academy Awards for his performances in “The Usual Suspects” and “American Beauty.” Following his departure from “House of Cards” in 2017 due to misconduct allegations on and off the set, the actor has returned to acting in recent years.

In a separate trial held in New York last year, Spacey was found not liable for battery regarding allegations that he had picked up actor Anthony Rapp and lay on top of him at a party in 1986.
The trial in London is ongoing, and further proceedings will continue.
