Police believe a man tried to murder his family by purposefully driving off a cliff.
On Monday morning, an electric vehicle fell off a cliff along the Pacific Coast Highway. The vehicle was identified as a Tesla, driven by a father with his wife and children inside it. Officials think it was attempted murder.
Dharmesh Patel was apprehended after California Highway Patrol investigators determined it was intentional. According to Officer Mark Andrews, they ran an investigation and discovered that the car was not on autopilot during the accident.
Luckily, all of them survived. The officers in the field said they were conscious when the rescuers were there to help them.
Mr. Patel is receiving medical attention for his injuries and will be detained at the San Mateo County Jail once released.
According to sources, Mr. Patel’s profession is a radiologist at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center.
The medical center released a statement saying their sentiments and hopes for their employee’s recovery and his family. However, they refused to talk about more of the issue and let the officials handle the situation.
