Las Vegas Metro Police have confirmed that a suspected shooter on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) campus has been located and is deceased.
The incident prompted an active investigation, with the police urging the public to avoid the area and be vigilant for emergency units. Reports of a shooting with multiple victims near Beam Hall initiated the law enforcement response.
In a social media update, the police communicated, “There appears to be multiple victims at this time. Please avoid the area, and we will provide more information soon.”
At 11:54 a.m. local time, the university issued an emergency notice online, instructing, “University Police responding to report of shots fired in BEH evacuate to a safe area, RUN-HIDE-FIGHT.”
Subsequently, the university relayed on social media that the police were also addressing an “additional report of shots fired in the Student Union” and advised people to evacuate the corresponding area.
