Grammys: Rapper Killer Mike Arrested After Altercation at Event

Rapper Killer Mike found himself in legal trouble on Sunday, as he was apprehended and questioned before being escorted out of the Grammys venue by the police in connection with a reported altercation.

The Los Angeles Police Department disclosed that a man, later identified as Michael Render, the legal name of Killer Mike, was taken into custody and handcuffed on Sunday afternoon in relation to a “physical altercation.” Subsequently, he was formally arrested and transported to the LAPD’s Central Division, as indicated in an announcement made by the department on X.

The arrest was made in the 700 block of Chick Hearn Court, near Crypto.com Arena, where the Grammys were taking place. Michael Render faces a misdemeanor battery charge, and the police noted that he was in the process of being released as of Sunday night. Details regarding the specifics of the alleged altercation have not been disclosed by the LAPD.

Earlier in the day, Killer Mike had a triumphant moment, securing three Grammy awards during the pre-show Premiere Ceremony. His wins included accolades for best rap performance, best rap song, and best rap album.
