In the ongoing sexual assault trial of Kevin Spacey, Elton John took the stand on Monday to provide testimony in support of the defense.
John, who appeared remotely from Monaco, was called to testify following a statement from his husband, David Furnish. Furnish clarified that Spacey had only attended the annual gala held at their Windsor home on one occasion.
One of the alleged victims had accused Spacey of forcibly grabbing his crotch during a car ride to the ball, which occurred in either 2004 or 2005.
In response, Spacey maintained that he had only attended the event in 2001. Furnish had previously testified, stating that he had reviewed photographs and confirmed that 2001 was the sole year Spacey had attended.
During his testimony, John confirmed that Spacey had stayed overnight at their residence after the ball, which was the only time the actor had been present.
