Authorities in Pennsylvania are actively pursuing an escaped convict, Danelo Cavalcante, who is considered armed and dangerous. The fugitive, a convicted murderer, was last seen in South Coventry Township, Chester County, which is located northwest of Philadelphia. Law enforcement agencies have issued a warning to the local community, advising them not to approach Cavalcante and to ensure the safety of their homes by locking all doors and windows.

Cavalcante’s recent sighting occurred in nearby Phoenixville, where he had altered his appearance, heightening concerns about his potential whereabouts. Just last month, he was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole following his conviction for the fatal stabbing of his former girlfriend. It has been reported that he had been attempting to contact former acquaintances for support.

The dramatic escape from Chester County Prison in Pocopson Township on August 31st was captured on surveillance footage. It depicted Cavalcante stretching himself across an exercise yard wall before making his way onto the roof. Subsequently, the manhunt intensified, with authorities initially scouring wooded areas where he had taken refuge. However, he has since relocated to more densely populated regions.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Clark emphasized that the pursuit had transitioned into a “long game” strategy. This shift occurred after the discovery of a stolen van in an area previously frequented by Cavalcante. Law enforcement officials believe that his presence in an urban setting now provides them with an advantage in their efforts to apprehend him.
