Willingboro, NJ — A Pennsylvania man has been arrested following a home invasion in New Jersey that resulted in the fatal shooting of a mother and daughter. Authorities in Burlington County confirmed the arrest of Junior Edwards, 37, of Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, on Saturday. Edwards is facing two counts of first-degree murder along with charges related to the alleged home invasion and weapon possession.

Catherine Nunez, 33, and her mother, Marisol Nunez, 54, were discovered dead in an upstairs bedroom of their Willingboro home early Wednesday morning, according to a statement from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Investigators believe the suspect entered the home by breaking a first-floor window. “The investigation revealed that entry was made through a first-floor window that had been smashed open by Edwards,” prosecutors said. Authorities also recovered a handgun outside the residence, which is believed to be the weapon used in the killings.

Edwards and Catherine Nunez share an 8-year-old son, who was in the home during the tragic incident but was unharmed, prosecutors said.
