An unusual Christmas tradition is that a naturist couple from Kent spends the entire day in the nude – even when their clothed family comes over for dinner.
Helen and Simon Berriman decorate their Christmas tree, open gifts, and cook and eat their roast dinner without putting on a single piece of clothing.
The naturist couple enjoys the day naked, avoiding the Christmas party attire, but they are not alone; family members also attend their festivities.
Helen’s mother and 15-year-old daughter attend their naturist Christmas, but the couple is the only ones who strip naked. Despite their nudity, Helen and Simon’s guests are unfazed by their lifestyle choices.
The naturist couple has known each other since elementary school, but they rekindled their romance in 2015 after chatting on Facebook. Simon quickly enthralled Helen with his zeal for naturism.
Helen joined him in 2020, when she quit her job as an optician manager to write for a nudist magazine.
Helen stated the purpose of this kind of lifestyle is to make everyone accept their body without judgment. People are shocked at first, especially when they host Christmas in nude. However, her mother and teenage daughter seemed to accept this lifestyle whenever they visited the couple on Christmas day.
She also mentioned that her mother and daughter support her choices but don’t want to join the lifestyle.
Some people have made disparaging remarks, implying that we’re swingers or sexualizing it, but that’s not the case.
Helen said it isn’t the typical setup, but it works for them.
The couple is completely naked while decorating the tree, though they must be careful with all the pine needles. They also cook the roast barefoot, but Helen wears an apron when using the oven and removing the roast potatoes.
She then explained the situation that made her decide to join Simon. Helen said that Simon had invited her before to a reverse life painting where she was the model. However, instead of being naked, she is fully clothed, and the painters are the ones without any clothing.
Helen confessed that she felt uncomfortable initially, but after a few talks with the participants, she felt at ease. So, she decided to take off her clothes and was surprised they didn’t care.
That made her feel more at ease.
She said that before the experience, she always thought of what others will say and felt bad about them. Everyone has scars and stretchmarks; it’s just nice not to have to hide them.
