Following Payne’s death, law enforcement conducted a series of raids at the homes of hotel staff and acquaintances of Payne, confiscating cell phones, a hard drive, three laptops, and various drugs, including marijuana. Nine raids in total were conducted as part of the investigation.
Multiple sources confirmed to media that CCTV footage reviewed by authorities appeared to show drug exchanges between a dealer and a hotel employee before Payne’s death. The footage reportedly shows the hotel employee supplying Payne with drugs.
