A New York City teacher has been arrested and charged after allegedly placing a 5-year-old boy in a headlock, according to police.
The incident reportedly took place around 1:30 p.m. on Monday at PS 153 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Elementary School in Manhattan’s Hamilton Heights neighborhood.
Authorities have identified the teacher as 46-year-old Anthony Wicks, who faces charges of assault and acting in a way harmful to a child under 17, according to police.
The young boy was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and is expected to recover. However, no specific information has been released regarding the child’s injuries or their severity.
