The investigation began on Nov. 5, when a local resident reported an “unsettling encounter” after giving a man a ride. The resident noted that the passenger, who carried two bags, made “alarming statements” and discarded several objects from the vehicle, some of which appeared to be human bones.
Discovery of Human Remains
A search of the area confirmed the presence of bone fragments, which were later identified as human by a pathologist. Additional searches of a residence where the man had been staying uncovered more bone fragments, including “evidence of 10-20 human skulls,” the sheriff’s office reported.
