A man attacked and injured three young children on their way to a daycare center in Zurich on Tuesday, according to Swiss police. The suspect has been arrested.
The incident occurred shortly after noon in the Oerlikon district, Zurich’s largest city. Police reported that the children were accompanied by a female daycare worker when the man suddenly assaulted them with a knife.
The daycare employee, with the assistance of another man, managed to subdue the attacker and detained him until law enforcement arrived. Authorities identified the suspect as a 23-year-old Chinese national.
The three boys, all five years old, were taken to the hospital. One sustained serious injuries, while the other two were reported to have moderate injuries, police confirmed.

The authorities have not disclosed any information regarding the possible motive behind the attack.
