Approximately 138,000 Lucid platform beds sold through major retailers like Amazon and Walmart are being recalled in the U.S. and Canada due to risks of collapsing, which could lead to falls and injuries.
The Utah-based importer CVB Inc. is recalling Lucid-branded platform beds with upholstered square-tufted headboards. According to announcements from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada, these beds may sag, break, or collapse during use.

So far, 245 reports of the beds collapsing have been filed in the U.S., leading to 18 injuries such as contusions and bruises, according to the CPSC. In Canada, 11 incidents of bed failures have been reported, though no injuries have occurred.
The recall affects a discontinued version of Lucid’s platform beds, which were manufactured between 2019 and 2021. Despite the beds no longer being produced, they remained available for purchase at major retailers until April 2024.
In addition to Amazon and Walmart, the recalled beds were sold on Lucid’s website and at other retailers including Bed Bath & Beyond, eBay, Home Depot, Macy’s, Target.com, and Wayfair.
The recall impacts around 137,000 beds sold in the U.S. and 890 in Canada. The beds, made in Malaysia, come in various sizes: twin, full, queen, king, and California king. They can be identified by a white label located on the back of the headboard, which states “Made For: CVB INC, 1525 W 2960 S, LOGAN, UT 84321.”
Owners of the recalled beds are advised to stop using them immediately and contact Lucid for a free replacement frame. To receive a replacement, consumers will need to write “recalled” on the bed’s support rails using a permanent marker and send photos to Lucid. More details about the recall and replacement process can be found on Lucid’s recall page.
