Justin Timberlake has pleaded not guilty once again to charges related to his June arrest for driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons.

The singer, who has concerts scheduled this weekend in Antwerp, Belgium, made a virtual appearance on Friday in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court in New York.

A re-arraignment was necessary due to a paperwork error during his initial charge.

The next hearing is set for August 9, but Timberlake is not required to attend. The judge asked his attorney to schedule a date for Timberlake to appear in person, potentially as soon as September 13.

In June, Timberlake, 43, was pulled over and arrested in Sag Harbor after allegedly running a stop sign and swerving into another lane.

According to the criminal complaint, police determined he was driving under the influence, noting his bloodshot, glassy eyes, and the strong smell of alcohol on his breath. He exhibited slowed speech, unsteadiness, and performed poorly on a field sobriety test. Timberlake claimed he had only one drink.

As a result of the arrest, Timberlake’s license was suspended, but this suspension only affects his ability to drive in New York since he holds an out-of-state license.

Timberlake’s attorney, Ed Burke, explained that this suspension is standard procedure for DWI cases in New York, where it remains in effect until the case is resolved. Other states have similar regulations.

Burke criticized the charges, asserting that Timberlake was not intoxicated at the time of the arrest, and expressed confidence that the charges would be dismissed.
