Zoë Kravitz Says She “Drank Milk From A Bowl” While Preparing For Role In “The Batman”

It seems like Zoë Kravitz fully got into her role as Catwoman while shooting the new movie The Batman. She totally committed to the role, and she told Jimmy Fallon that she even started “drinking milk from a bowl” to fully inhabit her role for the movie.

While doing some press spots in anticipation of the premiere of The Batman, Kravitz appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and talked about the interesting lengths she took to get into the character of Catwoman.

Method Acting

During the interview, Kravitz talked about how she used “method acting” techniques to fully engulf herself into the Catwoman character. Fallon, jokingly, said he would have started to study cats and “drink milk out of a bowl.”

He may have been joking, but it looks like Kravitz had the last laugh? She responded, “I did that!” Fallon could not believe it, as he chimed back, “You did not!”

Was she being honest? Kravitz was insistent on the fact that she drank milk from a bowl, but when she was pressed further about the subject, she did add in a “maybe” before saying, “I’m method, dude.”

Research For Catwoman

Whether she drank milk out of a bowl or not, we do know she fully got into character and started her research right away for the role. To do so, she said she “watched a bunch of cat videos, feline videos, watching them fight.”

Her big takeaway? How cats don’t give anything away with their face. She said, “And what I was so interested in was the fact that you can’t read their faces at all, which is why I think people are kind of creeped out by them. You can’t tell what they’re going to do.”

If you own a cat, then you know this statement is true!

Forming Relationships With Cats

Since her character, Selina Kyle, had cats in the movie, she needed to form a relationship with some of these cats. In order to form that bond, Kravitz said production would put her in a room with a bunch of cats, but the cats didn’t care.

Kravitz told Fallon, “I was just sitting here, and the cats would just walk away; it did nothing. They were the hardest thing to control during the shooting. We were doing like, crazy stunts, and like, all that was fine. But then, like, getting a cat to stay in one place – impossible.”

It’s why they say actors should never work with pets, but it did work out for Kravitz and The Batman movie. It premiered to a huge opening, and took in $128.5 million during its premiere, CNN reported.
