While police see many wild things on the job in their normal day-to-day lives, we think this scenario is new for them. A Texas woman drops off 50 pounds of feces at the police station, officials said.
The incident occurred on November 10, as an officer saw on security cameras that a citizen left an item in front of the Police Department, according to officials with the Electra Police Department.
The officer went outside and found three 5-gallon buckets of human waste, KXAN reported. That officer saw a person in a white suit come down from an SUV with a trailer. When asked about the item, the woman stated that the buckets were “human sh**” and that she was dropping them off. She then got into the vehicle and drove off.
Afterward, officials reviewed the security camera footage and determined the woman’s voice to be Mindy Janette Stephens, 46, due to him speaking with her earlier in the day about the buckets of human waste.
Officials said they contacted the City of Electra to report what happened. They said they would get in touch with Stephens and ask her to come to pick up the buckets or face charges. A little later, city officials said they were sending over an employee to pick up the buckets since they talked with Stephens, and she refused to retrieve them and said it was not her problem. According to the police, it was estimated to be about 50 pounds of feces in total.
Stephens was arrested and booked into the Wichita County Jail on December 1 and charged with a misdemeanor and a violation of the Texas Healthy Safety Code for dumping the item. Officials said she was released on December 2 after posting her $2,000 bond.
It is not the first run-in with the law for Stephens, as she has several prior assault charges against her, with the most recent occurring in 2020. At the time, she was charged with aggravated assault and family violence after allegedly attacking someone using keys to puncture his hand and arm in several places.
