Over the weekend, a Mississippi nightclub shooting resulted in three fatalities and over a dozen injuries, according to authorities.
Early Sunday, a significant crowd had gathered outside a club near the Sunflower County courthouse in Indianola. Officers were in the process of setting up barriers to manage traffic when the shooting began, Indianola Police Chief Ronald Sampson reported to The Enterprise-Tocsin.
Sampson has not yet responded to further inquiries for more details regarding the nightclub shooting.
The victims were identified as Areon Butler of Indianola, Cameron Lee Butts, and Marquette Baites, both from Greenville, as stated by county Coroner Heather Burton. All three were 19 years old.

Indianola, with a population of 9,100, is situated in Mississippi’s predominantly rural Delta region, approximately 100 miles (161 kilometers) northwest of Jackson, the state capital.
