A man in India tried to get a little frisky with a snake, for some reason, and it ended as everyone would have expected – the man getting bit by the snake.
A snake handler in India made an attempt to kiss a cobra, but it backfired when the snake decided to return the favor and bit the man on the lips. A video of the venomous kiss is currently causing viewers to shake their heads and ask why!
According to the New York Post, an eyewitness said, “It is a really sad state of affairs to see such silly things being done which could be fatal in many ways.” The incident took place in Bhadravathi, Karnataka, India, on October 1.
The snake handler has not been identified yet, but he reportedly just rescued the snake when he decided to attempt the kiss that went wrong, the New York Post reported. There is no clear sign of what inspired the man to attempt the kiss, especially since he has many years of experience with snakes.
In the video, the man can be seen holding the venomous snake from behind while kissing it on the back of its head, which causes the snake to flare out its hood in a threatening display. This is when things got worse for the man, as the cobra whipped around in a flash and bit the man right on the lips, which caused the onlookers to cry out in shock, according to the New York Post.
The snake was able to flee the scene as bystanders tried frantically to wrangle it. At the end of the video, you can see the cobra trying to wrap itself around a motorbike wheel.

After getting bit by the cobra, the man was rushed to the hospital, where he is reportedly in stable condition. The man should feel lucky though, as certain species of cobra in India pack enough venom to kill 10 people. There have also been approximately 1.2 million people who have been killed by snake bites in the country in the last two decades, so the man is lucky to have made it out alive.
