A helicopter rescue operation was conducted to save 4 Asbury University students who were stranded on Courthouse Rock in Red River Gorge, Kentucky. The students, who had been camping, found themselves in a crazy situation after underestimating the weather conditions, according to officials from Powell County.
The group had camped overnight and woke up to an unexpected snowfall on Tuesday. Realizing the danger of descending from their location on Courthouse Rock in the hazardous conditions, they reached out for help.

Responding to the call, the Powell County Fire and Helicopter Rescue team initially set out to reach the students by foot. However, upon assessing the trail conditions and the risks involved, it was determined that a helicopter extraction was the safest option. The successful aerial rescue operation ensured the safety and well-being of the stranded college students.
