According to the LA Fire Department, an explosion in Los Angeles has resulted in seven injured firefighters, two of whom are presently in critical condition.
According to the department, 12 firefighters answered a call in response to an early Thursday blazing semi-truck incident.
At a news briefing, Captain Erik Scott of the Fire Department clarified that the semi-truck was not fueled by diesel or gasoline but rather by compressed natural gas.
While firefighters were fighting the blaze, Scott provided additional information that one of the two 100-gallon tanks being carried by the truck detonated.
He added that the height of the flames was equivalent to that of telephone poles and consequently resulted in an explosion from a nearby transformer.

Scott observed that the authorities are unsure of both the state of the driver and whether or not movement was occurring during ignition.
