The takeover of Twitter by Elon Musk has been a hot mess, even before Musk’s buyout was officially confirmed. The hot mess express continues, as Musk has implemented massive changes that have rocked the social media giant, and now an ex-Twitter employee has gone viral with her “9 to 5 (Elon Edit)” song, which is a must-see!

Lindsay Crider, an ex-Twitter employee of the marketing team for four years, according to her LinkedIn profile, made the video and shared it to Twitter, according to NDTV. She starts the video by stating this was “just a joke, literally a parody,” which clearly refers to Musk’s blanket ban on accounts impersonating him.

Shortly after taking over, accounts were impersonating Musk and he got angry about it. Musk ordered accounts to declare themselves as parody accounts or face suspension to try and stop it from happening. So much for free speech like he promised, huh?

For the viral video, Crider based her song on Dolly Parton’s 1980 hit single “9 to 5.” The song starts with an ode to Musk’s ultimatum asking Twitter staff to commit to a “hardcore” work environment or accept a buyout.

Crider sings, “I slept on the floor no time for a shower; Gone hardcore with my 80 hours; It’s time to get this big blue bird to fly.” After Musk’s ultimatum, there were mass resignations at Twitter, which Crider references, “I let out a breath cause I gotta let it sink in; Boot up again the Yubikey’s Blinkin; I open slack it’s just me and some guy.”

After all the resignations, the hashtag #RIPTwitter started trending on the platform, as many thought the platform was on the brink of collapse because of all the chaos behind closed doors.

Because hundreds of employees resigned, Crider continues, “Working 9 to 9, its 2.0 initial.” She wraps up the song by singing, “Printed out my lines of code to get an edit, it’s enough to drive everyone to Reddit.” While many people have abandoned Twitter and Musk, will Reddit be taking over? And how long before Musk takes down this video?
