A tragic incident occurred in Texas, where a child took their own life during an online gaming session, purportedly as a result of cyberbullying, as stated by authorities.
A male juvenile from Michigan has been pinpointed as the suspect, having admitted guilt to a felony charge of aiding suicide and a misdemeanor charge of harassment causing death, as declared by the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office in a released statement on Friday.
To protect the identities of the minors involved, authorities refrained from disclosing their names. The investigation commenced in January when law enforcement responded to a residence in the Lockeridge Farms subdivision after receiving a report of a suicide. At the time of the incident, the child was found still wearing a gaming headset and seemed to be online, according to authorities.
Detectives, utilizing search warrants and interviews within an online gaming community spanning various states, successfully identified the juvenile suspect. The case underwent review by the Montgomery County Attorney’s Office.
According to prosecutors, the 16-year-old suspect allegedly subjected the victim to persistent harassment, ultimately leading to the tragic outcome of suicide. The suspect entered into a plea deal and is slated to be on probation until reaching the age of 18.

The Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office emphasized its commitment to addressing cyberbullying cases seriously and pledged to thoroughly investigate such incidents. They underscored their determination to bring these cases to justice.
