Authorities in San Mateo, California, have made a shocking arrest after a woman was fatally stabbed, and a video of the killing was posted on Facebook. The investigation commenced when Nye County authorities in Nevada received a report about the distressing video from someone in their jurisdiction.
Providing crucial information, the person who reported the video shared the name and phone number of the individual responsible for the disturbing upload. This led the San Mateo police to the San Francisco Bay Area, where they launched an intense search operation. Tragically, after nearly three hours of searching, officers discovered the lifeless body of a woman in an apartment unit within a large complex.
The suspect, identified as Mark Merchikoff, 39, was later apprehended in San Jose, approximately 20 miles southeast of San Mateo. As per the police, there was a connection between Merchikoff and the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed. Investigators are actively looking into the motive behind the heinous act, which remained unknown at the time of the report.

In a chilling revelation, the police stated that Merchikoff had heartlessly recorded the victim’s final moments and proceeded to upload the horrifying video on Facebook before fleeing the area.
Mark Merchikoff has been arrested on suspicion of homicide, though online court records as of Thursday night did not show any existing case against him. As of now, it remains uncertain whether Merchikoff has legal representation to speak on his behalf.
