On Wednesday, law enforcement announced the detention of Bruce Edward Bell, aged 71. Prior to this arrest, he had already spent more than half his lifetime incarcerated for bank thefts. The incident in question took place on December 21 at a Sun Valley financial institution where an individual resembling Bell brandished a firearm towards one of the workers and fled with $60k worth of currency taken from inside said establishment.

After the Sun Valley heist, Bell was caught during a standard traffic check where law enforcement found him carrying a black imitation weapon and almost $64,000. The online records of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated that until Wednesday evening, he remained in custody with bail set at $1.6 million.

According to court records, Bell is confronted with criminal accusations such as second-degree larceny and abduction. Nevertheless, there were no details online concerning his legal counsel.

The Los Angeles police have identified Bell as a “serial bank robber” and released his photos along with information to the public in order to prevent any possible future victims. The statement given by the authority further highlighted that this isn’t Bell’s first offence, he has been convicted of robbing banks four times previously and already served over 40 years in prison for it.
