A man has been apprehended following reports of two young girls, aged 10 and 11, being subjected to sexual assault while swimming in the sea near Bournemouth Beach. The incident took place in the vicinity of Pier Approach around 3:45 PM on a Sunday afternoon.

Upon receiving the report, police officers promptly arrived at the scene to investigate. As a result of their inquiries, a 43-year-old man from London was taken into custody on suspicion of committing sexual assault.

Detective Constable Cameron Carter, representing Dorset Police, emphasized the importance of gathering comprehensive evidence and encouraged any witnesses who had not yet come forward to share their accounts with the authorities. Additionally, he urged individuals who possessed relevant mobile phone footage of the incident to reach out to the police.

In response to these distressing incidents, local law enforcement announced that they would be proactively patrolling the beach and the surrounding area to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.

This occurrence follows a separate incident earlier this month on June 17, in which the police were called to Bournemouth seafront. They responded to an allegation of a man attempting to sexually assault a teenage girl near a fish and chip shop. A 30-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of both attempted sexual assault and attempted assault.
