Matthew Perry’s new book, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, does tell all. That includes a make-out session he had with actress Valerie Bertinelli while she was married to her former husband, rock star Eddie Van Halen.
Bertinelli, 62, took to TikTok to fess up to the rumor. She posted a video of her waving to the camera while Anti-hero song was playing.

Matthew Perry’s book discusses how the two met in 1990 and how their session began.
Although Bertinelli was married to Eddie Van Halen at the time, Perry describes their relationship as “clearly troubled.”
He described in his book an elaborate session of them while Van Halen is passed out. It was a dream come true to Perry as he cherished that moment. However, when Perry mentioned it, Bertinelli seemed to have forgotten about it.
Bertinelli eventually divorced Van Halen in 2001. The two have a son together, Wolfgang, who is now 31.
She later married financial planner Tom Vitale in 2011 and divorced him in May of 2022.
Eddie Van Halen died in 2020 at age 65 after a battle with throat cancer.
Matthew Perry’s book also chronicles his A-list relationships with Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz and his addiction struggles. It can currently be pre-ordered, and it will be released on November 1.
